2011

I'm not going to waste any time talking about how pathetic it is that I haven't written in so long, and how bad of a blogger I really am. I am going to go straight into the good stuff. I always love after Christmas and before New Year's looking back on the past year and planning my New Year's Resolutions. It is so nice to reminisce on the past year of memories, and to make plans for the all the new memories I want to have.

January was a great month this year, I got my own car!! I absolutely love it, and love having the freedom of going places on the weekends. When looking for cars Sam and I really felt that it was important to find something that would work for when we have a baby. We decided that I wouldn't go with a stick-shift car which I really wanted, and that we wanted a small SUV so I wouldn't have to bend down so far to put the car seat in. I am expecting now and am so glad that we decided to get something that would work for the baby. :) I think it will be perfect and I absolutely love it.

February is always a fun month because of Valentine's Day. I always have loved Valentine's Day with Sam, he always makes it so special and wonderful. When Sam and I were first married we decided that we would take turns each Valentine's Day with planning the evening. This year was Sam's turn to plan. We went to Tsunami, an amazing sushi place that we both love, then went home and watched a movie together and had chocolate covered Strawberries (my favorite dessert!!). It was a simple, but great.

In March of this year we decided to go down to Arizona for St. Patrick's Day and see "Flogging Molly" in concert. Sam and I and our friend Matt went down and stayed with my brother Bricklin in his new apartment. It was such a fun trip and was so nice to see family and friends.

April of this year we went to a Fun concert!! I am a little obsessed with the band Fun and am so glad that we got to go!!

May is always such a nice month, because school is now out and we begin our summer break. This summer however Sam and I were in school and Sam had 18 credits. It was busy, but well worth it since Sam and I will both graduate in April of 2012. It was crazy getting out of school in April and then beginning again in May, but we did get a nice break for a couple weeks. :)

June is my birthday month, and Sam really made this birthday amazing. Two days before my birthday Sam took me on a date to Firehouse Subs and to see"Big Bad Voodoo Daddy". We had so much fun at that concert, and even got to meet the band after and got their signatures. The next day we had a party with all of our friends where we played games and watched "Water for Elephants" one of my new favorites. It was so much fun. My birthday gift from Sam was tickets to see "Journey" in concert. It was a fantastic concert, and so exciting!! It was one of the best
birthdays I have ever had. I love my Sammy!!

July was another perfect month for seeing "Fun" in concert in Vegas!! We went down to Vegas during our break in between summer semesters and stayed at our friend Gary's condo in St. George and went hiking, to the concert and enjoyed a nice weekend away. It was definitely needed.

In August we went to Sea World with Sam's family. My niece and nephew are old enough now that my In Laws thought Sea World would be fun. It was so much fun and we really had a blast. We got to go to Sea World for a day, and the beach another. It was short, but sweet!! The best part of the trip I would have to say was the giant pickle I ate before the Shamu show. It was delicious!! Everyone kept teasing that since I was craving pickles I had to be pregnant, little did we know......

September 9th of this year Sam and I found out that we were expecting! We started trying to have a baby, and I had gotten sick just after getting home from California for our Sea World trip and was really hoping that it meant I was pregnant. I took a test the morning of Sep 9th and it didn't read positive, so I thought. I called Sam to let him know that I wasn't pregnant and that whole day was so upset and really bummed at work. I came home that evening and went and showed the test to him. He looked at me and laughed and said, "Piper there are two lines, you are pregnant". Well in my defense the tests are very confusing. One line means you are not pregnant, and two lines, regardless if one is faint or if they are both dark, means you are pregnant. I had two lines, and am in deed pregnant. I was so ecstatic!!! The next day we decided to tell Sam's parents at dinner and the next day told my parents while skyping. We are so excited to be having a little baby, and the timing could not have been more perfect as we were celebrating our 4th Anniversary that month. Sam also turned 27 in September. We went to Outback with all of our friends on his birthday and then went back and hit a dinosaur pinata and played games. It was a busy, but exciting month for us!!

October of this year we went on our anniversary trip to Vegas. We had a short Fall Break this year and I had not been feeling good for a while with my pregnancy so we decided to do something small and easy. We went to see "The Lion King" play and it was amazing!! We really had a great time, and I was lucky to be feeling a little better for the trip. I am so glad that we decided to still go on a trip this year. Sam and I always told each other that we would do a trip for our anniversary regardless of how big or small, and I am so glad that we have stuck to that. Our anniversary has been so memorable and special each year, and I love the time we get to spend together.

November this year was filled with a lot of good tears. My little brother Jace went into the MTC November 18th and will be serving in the Lansing Michigan Mission. It was so wonderful to see how grown up, mature and prepared he was to serve. I am so proud of him, and miss him so much. For Thanksgiving I sent him a package with lots of fun treats for the MTC and some Chocolate Fluff so he would feel like he was at home. His letters so far have been amazing and I am so glad that he is doing so well so far.

Here we are at the end of December and about to begin a new year. Jace is now in Lansing and called on Christmas Day, that made our Christmas the best!! We had so much fun talking with him and with family playing games, enjoying a wonderful Christmas dinner, and just talking. Christmas has been amazing, and I look forward to spending New Year's with my family. Sam and I wish all of you a Happy New Year's and hope you had as wonderful of a year as we did, and that you feel as blessed as we do. We will keep everyone updated on baby news as we find out on the 9th of January what we are having. :)
